Are the Equisense Sensors Waterproof?

The Equisense Motion, Motion Essential and Motion S are not waterproof. They are resistant to splashes but not to complete immersion.

They come with an official certification: IP54
The IP protection code is a standard defined by the international standard IEC 60529 by the International Electrotechnical Commission. It classifies the degree of protection of electrical material against intrusion of solid particles (e.g. dust) and liquids (water, oil, etc.). It’s made up of a two-digit number. The 1st digit represents the protection against dust, and the second digit indicates the protection against water.

You can therefore train in torrential downpour, cross over a stream, and canter on a beach, but be careful not to completely immerse your sensor into the water.

In case you have still put your sensor into your washing machine by mistake or put it into water any other way, please contact us at contact@equisense.com.
